Over 60s Insulation Grants
Loft, Cavity Wall, Internal Wall and External Wall Insulation grants are currently available under the Energy Companies Obligation (ECO) to anyone aged 60 or above who receives a qualifying benefit. There are several different grants that can be claimed, depending on the products you require and your circumstances. Please visit our main site pages for more details:

Over 60s who do not qualify for a grant can still receive a free survey and quote from an approved installer.
The grant funding is part of the Energy Companies Obligation (ECO), which places an obligation on Energy Suppliers to improve the Energy Efficiency in domestic homes. ECO is part of the Government’s new Green Deal program.
What we can help with
Providing you own the property or rent it from a private landlord, we can put you in contact with a local insulation installer.
Your loft should have less than 4 inches (100mm) of insulation already installed. If the insulation is below the level of the joists this will typically be under 4 inches. The Government’s current recommendation is a depth of 11 inches (270mm). Please see our Loft Insulation page for more details.
If your home was built of brick between 1924 and 1982 it is likely to have cavity walls. Our Cavity Wall Insulation page will provide you with more information. Prior to 1924, brick-built properties were normally built with solid walls that will require Internal Wall Insulation or External Wall Insulation, which is also suitable for solid stone or concrete properties.
Grants can also be claimed for properties that have roof rooms with little or no insulation. Please see our Room in Roof Insulation page for more information.
- Home owners aged 60 or above.
- Private Tenants aged 60 or above
- Properties with no damp in the loft/walls.
- Loft, Roof Room, Cavity, and Internal/External Wall Insulation.
- Products installed by approved contractors.
How It Works
The first step is to complete our online form. This will tell you which grant you should qualify for. If you are entitled to a grant, your details will be allocated to an approved local Installer who will telephone you to arrange a free, no-obligation survey.
If the survey shows that your property is suitable for home insulation, the surveyor will check your entitlement to a grant. If you are happy to go ahead, the installer will arrange the work and then claim the grant on your behalf.
